Fumed Rift White Oak Tamo Ash in Species Y

Fumed Rift White Oak presents one of the most sophisticated and refined surface options in architectural veneer. The face shown here displays the characteristic tight, vertical grain structure of rift-cut white oak — straight, parallel lines running consistently from edge to edge with minimal ray fleck, creating a clean, linear texture that reads as both structured and organic. The fuming process has transformed the natural warm tones of white oak into a complex, cool-to-neutral gray with subtle

Other Names: Fumed Rift White Oak

Workability: Machining & Cutting: Generally excellent workability with both hand and power tools. It cuts cleanly and responds well to standard woodworking processes. Sanding & Finishing: Sands to a very smooth finish. It accepts stains uniformly, though a pre-stain conditioner is sometimes used to ensure even absorption. It also takes clear coats, oils, and paints very well. Gluing: Bonds strongly with standard wood adhesives.

Availability: Generally a mid-to-high price point, more expensive than plain sliced (flat cut) oak but widely available and easily sourced in large quantities for architectural projects.

Special Note: The Rosebud Commitment to Architectural Vision: Achieving perfectly matched vertical grain runs that span multiple panels.

Grain Texture: The Grain Strategy: Because it’s Rift Cut, the grain is perfectly straight, pencil-thin lines. There is no "cathedral" arch and no "flake" (the shiny spots in quarter-sawn oak)

Characteristics: Fuming our Rift White Oak gives the veneer a rich deep warmth that staining cannot offer. Our Architectural Grade Rift White Oak has an exceptional color second to none.
