Etimoe is naturally a brownish-grey wood, but when fumed, it turns into a deep, smoky "espresso" with an incredible depth.
Rosebud Veneer provides Fumed Figured Etimoe Afromosia to Phoenix, Arizona. Contact us for pricing and availability.
Grain & Texture: Etimoe often has a very tight, consistent "mottle" or "block" figure. Etimoe figure looks like rippled velvet or expensive fabric.
Workability: Moderately difficult to work due to interlocked grain. The fuming process does not affect workability. Requires sharp tools to avoid tearout on figured areas. Takes finish exceptionally well — the smoky depth becomes dramatic under lacquer or oil.
Uses: For the client wants "Old Money" luxury—dark, moody, and expensive, but not "loud."
