Makore with a quilted or blistered figure that creates a soft, pillow-like three-dimensional effect across the veneer surface. Color is a rich pinkish-brown to reddish-brown. The quilted pattern is rarer and more dramatic than the standard mottled figure, with larger, rounder figure elements.

Grain & Texture: Interlocked grain with a pronounced quilted or blistered figure. Fine, even texture. The quilted pattern creates soft, rounded bumps of light and shadow that shift dramatically with viewing angle.
Workability: Similar to standard Makore — generally good workability. Interlocked grain requires care during planing. The silica content dulls blades. Takes stain and finish beautifully, which deepens the quilted figure.
Uses: Premium architectural paneling, feature walls, luxury furniture, musical instruments, high-end cabinetry. The quilted figure makes it a statement species for focal installations.
